| Members are senior women executives in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the federal government (grades GS-15 or the equivalent and above, and presidential appointees). Members who have left the federal government to retire or serve in the private sector may retain membership. Objectives are to advocate the advancement of women, to encourage interest and participation in public service by other women, to mutually support members' professional pursuits, to provide opportunities to meet with other professional women and to take a public position on issues related to the goals of the organization. Services include speakers, directory and mentoring opportunities.
EWG's annual conference takes place in March and holds holds monthly meetings with guest speakers who discuss topics of professional or general interest. Other events focus on networking or programs that highlight contributions of outstanding women. Venues and times vary. Guests of members are welcome.
