Francinah Mophuting’s Story: A Client from the Kanana Village Bank in
South Africa (A Bank Supported by TIAW)
Her mother worked as a domestic worker in Pretoria to help her family survive. While growing up, Francinah had to contribute to the well-being of the family by selling sweets and fruits.
Francinah moved to where she lives now in Mahwelereng, South Africa, and started making and selling sorghum beer. She joined the Small Enterprise Foundation (SEF), a micro credit organization supported by TIAW, so she could be able to expand her business and live a better life.
Since she has been with SEF she has built an extension on her house, provided her home with electricity and bought an electric stove, while still managing to save US$50 every month.
She is very grateful to SEF and hopes to achieve even more.
