South Africa Donor Trip - Save that date!

August 13 – 27, 2012

Next summer, TIAW will offer you the chance to see Village Banking in action on our next donor trip. Sixteen TIAW members and friends will travel to South Africa for two weeks, August 13 to 27, 2012.

We will visit Village Banks managed by SEF (The Small Enterprise Foundation) a microenterprise fund that works with the poorest of

the poor. The Village Banks are in Limpopo Province in the northeast corner of South Africa. The TIAW Microenterprise Program has already funded 10 banks with SEF and has another one in process right now.

We plan to visit SEF headquarters in Tzaneen, and then visit a working bank. You will meet real women working for economic security in one of the poorest places on earth. Because of your generosity, their lives will never be the same, and once you meet them, neither will yours. The major purpose of this trip is to see the SEF Microenterprise Program in action. However, since we will be going so far, we have added some side trips that most travelers “must see” when they are in South Africa: Cape Town, Sambona Wildlife Preserve, Johannesburg, and Victoria Falls. Travel arrangements are being made through South African Airways and the trip is tentatively priced at $6,550 USD, including round trip airfare from Dulles or JFK airports. Other international travel options will be available through South African Airways and a land only price will be posted when the literary is confirmed this autumn. The fine print: The trip is limited to 16 persons. Travelers will be responsible for some meals, tips, Victoria Falls visas and any optional

tours. TIAW will ask for a microcredit donation when you register for the trip. Your donation will go to TIAW and to village banks. Deposits will also be required from TIAW and South African Airways, and more information will be posted to the TIAW website as it becomes available.
