Sherry Fotheringham
Sherry Fotheringham spent more than 20 years at the Royal Bank of Canada and during the period 1994-1997, she created the foundational strategy for the bank’s national program for Canadian women entrepreneurs.  She provided support and championship for funding to the first nationwide television documentary on women entrepreneurs; sponsorship of Canada’s first national women’s business association; support for the Women Entrepreneurs of Canada international conference; support for the first trade mission for women entrepreneurs to the USA; as well as support for other businesswomen’s associations and initiatives. She also initiated the first national gender training program, educating bankers on how to attract and retain women business owners. Within the bank, Sherry started a network of advocates across Canada to champion women and their businesses. She attended the 1997 OECD conference on women entrepreneurs in Paris where she became a founding member in the creation of the Global Banking Alliance for Women that was formed to facilitate sharing of global best practices in the delivery of financial services to women.  Since leaving banking, Sherry has continued her community involvement as a past board member of the Credit Valley Hospital, Appleby College, and the Foundation of Canadian Women Entrepreneurs.
In 2008 she was also the recipient of the Inaugural TIAW Women World of Difference Award.
She is currently in the process of developing an E Mentoring program for young women in University and the Young Daughters Program on behalf of the TIAW.
