Patricia Foley Hinnen, 2004 Recipient

A tireless champion of the TIAW Microenterprise program, Patricia has overseen the creation of 18 village banks in 10 countries in such diverse regions as Mexico, Central America, South America, Africa and Asia. Under her leadership, the TIAW Microenterprise program has given thousands of women in more than 10 countries access to micro-loans, and in turn has generated thousands of dollars in economic activity, helped to empower women to support their families and control their destinies in often dire circumstances.

Throughout her years on this project, Patricia has been a force to reckon with as she has made connections and done research to find the areas of the world in greatest need, raised money, inspired volunteers and no question about it, made a huge difference, not only to the women and communalities affected directly by her work, but to TIAW, an organization that has become known for its Microenterprise activities.

The ability of organizations like TIAW to make a difference rests on its volunteers and on board members who guide the organization. In this capacity, Patricia has been outstanding in both her dedication and her effectiveness. AND she has made a difference in the lives of so many women.
