Margaret Mead said “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has!”
TIAW leadership has a long-established tradition of visiting Atlanta, Georgia USA in March of each year to participate in member events, and we did so again this year as part of the 2005 Celebration of TIAW’s 25th Anniversary. Joining me on this trip were Patricia Foley Hinnen, Chair of the TIAW Microenterprise Program, Donna Heivilin, Past President and TIAW Roving Ambassador, and Maxine Westaway, Past President and now Managing Director of TIAW. In addition to Atlanta, we also traveled to Greenville, South Carolina, along the way meeting many committed women and TIAW members, including the Atlanta Women’s Network, Georgia Executive Women’s Network, Board of Directors Network, the NAWBO Atlanta Chapter, and TIAW’s newest member, the Greenville International Association for Professional Women. Many thanks to our hosts in Atlanta and Greenville for making this a truly memorable trip! Read on for the full details of our trip.TIAW's year-long 25th Anniversary celebration recognizes 25 years of women from around the world making a difference in business, politics and philanthropy. As always, the mission of TIAW is to provide programs and initiatives that really do make a difference to our members and the women of the world. While we have always strived to provide thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating events, as part of this celebration we felt it appropriate to aspire to new heights, even for us. The International Meeting in Bulgaria, "Women Changing Business and Civic Landscape" will provide you with the inspiration, the passion, as well as important new business connections to empower us all as we return to our families, our communities and our business world. A word of caution, May is a very busy time in Sofia, you must get registered for the event and book your hotels rooms without delay.
Those of you who have attended the annual TIAW Global Partnership Forums held in the fall, know what a thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating event is, the caliber of topics and speakers that truly inspire. And for those of you who have not yet been a part of this, this is one you will not want to miss. As said, in keeping with our 25th Anniversary, this event will achieve new heights. As is fitting for a truly international organization, this years event will not only include incredible speakers and topics, it will also include breakouts and workshops, a trade exhibition to provide our members and sponsors with opportunities to promote their products and services, foreign delegations led by senior government officials. Make sure to mark October 19- 21, 2005 on your calendar and join us in Jacksonville, Florida for this important event "Celebrating 25 Years of Women Making a World of Difference in Business, Politics & Philanthropy," Don't forget to visit the TIAW website, www.tiaw.org for the latest details of this celebration.
