The plans for the TIAW Global Forum in Atlanta from November 9 – 11, 2006 look fantastic! I encourage you to join us. The speakers are not only from many parts of the world, but also represent a broad range of interests.
I am looking forward to attending the conference and seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Having had three surgeries on my femurs in the past 9 months, it will be great to get back into the swing of things.
In a recent email, Linda Muir exuded confidence and enthusiasm for this year’s Global Forum.
"The TIAW Global Forum in Atlanta is going to be wonderful!
Please visit the conference website http://www.globalforum.tiaw.org often to get the latest information about the impressive programs, speakers and activities that are planned. Beyond the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Atlanta, the venues for our social events are awesome: Goizueta School of Business at Emory University (named after the former Chair of The Coca-Cola Company) and the impressive, new Georgia Aquarium.
The Business & Trade Mission, which will precede the official opening of the Forum on November 9th, a new addition this year, is a great way to get warmed up for all that will follow, and to do some serious business as part of your visit. For our international members, we have local hosts who are excited about the opportunity to have an international, TIAW guest in their homes. So if the hotel cost is prohibitive when added to the airfare, or if you would just like to sample some southern Hospitality in the United States, please contact me and I will put you in touch with our Hospitality Chair, Candace Wood. She will match you with a host who will be just right for you. (We will make an effort to find a host who is conversant in your native language if English is a problem for any of your members.)
Please make sure that all your members are informed about these opportunities. This is a TIAW event not to be missed! We are looking forward to welcoming you to Atlanta and to having a Global Forum that will never be forgotten!”
I would like to thank co-Chairs Sarah O’Brien from Executive Women of Goizueta (EWG) and Myra McElhenny from Georgia Executive Women's Network (GEWN) for their hard work in making this Forum such a success, and Linda Muir and Rochele Hirsch, Atlanta Women's Network (AWN) for all their hard work organizing the Business and Trade Mission.
