The CIET for Women will be specifically used for building the ability to develop and apply innovation for driving the success of all types of enterprises. The centre will introduce flexible residential learning opportunities which include overnight, day and weekend programs, distance, e-learning courses from learning institutions from across West Africa and the International world.

The CIET for Women will be a source of innovation, drawing on the experience and expertise of various affiliated organisations and individuals from across the globe. GWIIN expects that the centre will provide knowledge transfer opportunities for over 200 innovative women in the first year of opening.

The core objectives for CIET FOR WOMEN are to:

· create an opportunity to study, encourage and help enable the emergent of grass root businesses by women with innovative ideas to successfully take them to market

· create opportunities at the centre for flexible learning including distance and e-learning in areas of crucial relevance such as ICT, intellectual property rights, access to funding, product development and entrepreneurship.

· develop a scholarship fund for innovative women in West Africa for capacity building

· serve as an intermediary service provider to various educational knowledge transfer institutions.

· provide access to educational opportunities for students, teachers and other adult learners in both rural and urban communities working for the capacity building of women

· raise the profile of innovative women in West Africa and encourage more girls into related careers
