Celebrating its 33rd anniversary in 2013, TIAW was founded in 1980 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA as the National Alliance of Professional and Executive Women’s Networks, and grew from a small, but passionate group in the USA to a worldwide organization group of professional women who united to support the economic empowerment and advancement of women. You may also read about one of TIAW founders, Marian "Mandy” Goetz, here. TIAW is now fully international, representing women and networks on six continents. As past president Hannah Sorscher said, "TIAW members are women who not only want to be inspired and connected through TIAW, but also want an opportunity to give back.” TIAW’s programs are all designed to achieve a greater global good through economic empowerment for women. Many international trips and friends later, TIAW continues to exercise leadership in building a global community of empowered women.
TIAW's new look in 2013 With the launch of TIAW's new membership platform and web site on January 1, 2013 TIAW introduces a new brand mark synergistic with the messaging and visual appeal of the site. The new brand mark incorporates the globe, signifying TIAW's global reach. The lower case and bolder letters in a modern font present a compelling, energetic and solid brand. The green and blue colors are truly international. Around the world, the blue family of colors are often associated with serenity, constancy and loyalty. TIAW's bright blue is electric, brisk, vibrant, stirring, and exhilarating. Worldwide, the green family of colors are a symbol of nature, growth and new beginnings. TIAW's bright green expresses renewal, freshness and liveliness. Together, the two colors represent the choice of over 70% of the world's largest organizations. About the web site In addition to the bright blue and green of it's brand mark, TIAW's color palette for the web site brings in the elegant and more traditional colors of burgundy and taupe. These historically significant hues are soft on power but bold on connected-ness. The wide and open branches of the tree behind the site's pages are symbolical of our long-standing friendships that continue to broaden and reach new heights each passing year.
