The World of Difference Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor bestowed by The International Alliance for Women. It recognizes one woman each year whose achievements in advancing women’s economic empowerment over a significant period of time are international in scope and impact, and who has also been an inspiration and a role model for other women of achievement. To be selected, the recipient must be able to attend the Awards Gala at the 2015 TIAW Global Forum in Washington, D.C.

IMPORTANT: ONLY THE PRESIDENT OR REPRESENTATIVE OF A TIAW MEMBER ORGANIZATION, A TIAW PROGRAM/COMMITTEE HEAD, AN INDIVIDUAL TIAW MEMBER OR A MEMBER OF THE TIAW BOARD OF DIRECTORS IS ELIGIBLE TO SUBMIT A NOMINATION FOR THIS AWARD.

Past Recipients include: Melanne Verveer (2013), Executive Director of the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security, and former U.S. Ambassador at Large for Global Women’s Issues in the Obama administration; Founder of the Société des Satellites Européan and international telecommunications leader and entrepreneur, Candace Johnson (2012); International finance and banking leader and New Zealand Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations, Amanda Ellis (2011); International Activist for Women’s Entrepreneurship and founder of Quantum Leaps, Virginia Littlejohn (2010); International Gender Intelligence thought leader and change agent, Barbara Annis (2009); Founder and Chair of the Arab International Women’s Forum, Haifa Al Kaylani (2008); Riane Eisler (2007), internationally known author (The Chalice and the Blade) and champion for the human rights of women and children; President and Founder of the Council of World Women Leaders, Laura Liswood (2006); Canadian journalist, author and social activist for women’s rights, Sally Armstrong (2005), Former President of Ireland Mary Robinson (2004); International women’s enterprise champion Andrina Lever (2003).
